I decided, that if Delia was no longer here to live out her dream of attending Britechester University I would do it for her. I got on the computer and started applying for scholarships.
Shortly after the funeral we celebrated Dante’s birthday. No one really felt like celebrating but dad still made him cake.
He has the active trait and is a rambunctious scamp.
After dad built the Newcrest Wellness Center he turned the old home gym into a music room for mom. She was finally able to take her grand piano out of storage. She has been composing some beautiful music. I think the music is helping her heal.
I have been painting a lot. I am thinking of pursuing either a Art History or Fine Arts degree.
I also started writing in a journal. Instead of doing “Dear Diary” I am writing my entries to Delia. It makes me feel closer to her.
Mom said it’s important to be well rounded and learn empathy for others. Therefore, we have all been volunteering at soup kitchens, nursing homes, etc. I am set to earn the compassionate trait.
I became a Llamacorn scout, which my guidance councilor said should help me earn a scouting scholarship.
I think the hardest part of the day for all of us is meal time.
As it’s hard to ignore that empty space at the table where Delia should be.
But life seems to move on. Dante completed his rambunctious scamp aspiration.
Mom and dad celebrated their elder birthdays.
Dziban aged up to an adult. I enjoy taking him jogging. His father Lupus is now an elder.
I graduated from High School. Dad made me pose for a silly portrait.
Then I blew out my birthday candles.
Afterwards I went strait to the computer to apply to the University of Britechester.
I think I checked the mailbox a hundred times waiting for my acceptance letter.
While I waited for my letter I worked on my painting skill.
I also spent time with my family. I made sure to take loads of photos for when I start feeling homesick.
Finally the letter arrived. I was accepted to Britechester University and eligible for their distinguished Art History and Fine Arts degree. I also learned that I was receiving a $250 scholarship for being a Newcrest Resident and $175 for being a Llamacorn Scout. I decided to enroll as an Art History major.
Before leaving I had to go talk to Delia.
“Well sister, I made it. I am going to Britechester for the both of us. I hope I can make you proud.”
