Before I left home mom pulled me aside and gave me a gift. It was a bunch of seeds from the family garden and $20,000.
I used some of the money to buy a plot of land in an entirely different area of Newcrest. Someday this lot will house a gym for the town to enjoy but for now it’s home.
After purchasing the lot I wasn’t left with much money. I found some buried treasures nearby that I was able to sell. I also sold some of my old paintings as well as some of the seeds mom gave me.
I made sure to keep one of each seed to plant in the yard. I used some of the money to enclose the garden in a greenhouse. This way I will be able to harvest all of the plants year round.
I used the remaining money I had to build a small house. It isn’t much right now but big enough for Comet and me.
It has a bedroom with space for my weight machine, a living room, kitchen and bathroom. Everly helped me decorate and mom sent some family photos to give it a more homey vibe.
The first morning in my new house was a bit strange. I think this might be the first time I have sat down to a meal by myself.
At least I have Comet for company.
In order to complete the Computer Whiz aspiration I got a job as a tech guru. I need to reach level 5 of that career. Fortunately, thanks to my programming and video gaming skills I got to start at level 3.
With the house built I invited Everly over for dinner. My cooking skill is not great but I was able to make us a taco casserole.
Afterwards we went to cuddle on the couch.
“Move in with me,” I blurted out.
“Are you sure?” Everly asked.
“Absolutely,” I said.
“Well then I’d love too,” she said.
We then proceeded to make out on the couch for awhile before heading to the bedroom for some woohoo in our bed. Our bed – I love the sound of that.
Living with Everly has been great. In the mornings I get in my workouts.
While Everly practices her music.
I currently work from 10 am – 7 pm as a code monkey so after I leave for work Everly takes Comet for a jog and then continues practicing her music until she leaves for work at 5 pm.
She is an Open Mic Seeker in the Entertainment career so she performs at various open mic nights in Magnolia Promenade, San Myshuno and other surrounding areas.
Once I get home I pass the time by working on building skills in things like painting.
I am also working on coding my own mobile app.
I then take Castor for another jog.
Before joining Everly at whatever lounge she is performing in that evening.
We then go home and spend some time together before going to bed.
When there is a block of time that we are both free at the same time we make the most of it. We attend festivals and try new foods.
Recently during a trip to the flea market we ran into Carina and Lincoln. We had brought Comet and they had brought Laika. The two really seem to have hit it off. Hopefully that means we will have puppies soon.
We had a blast competing in gaming tournaments at GeekCon.
During a trip to the romance festival the relationship guru told us that our relationship was a love for the ages.
I almost proposed to Everly right then and there but I really want to be more established in my career first.
We also enjoy going to visit our families.
Carina’s son Dyson is now an active toddler while Dawson is a rambunctious scamp of a child. It is great to see that Dawson eventually grew to adore his little brother.
Carina recently surprised us all by announcing she is pregnant yet again. For someone who dislikes children she sure gets pregnant a lot.
Corvus and Jonathan recently got engaged. Since it is just the two of them they offered to switch houses with Mom, Carina and her growing family.
Sometimes we pick up Dawson and bring him over to Everly’s parents house so he can play with her younger brother Nathaniel. The two are addicted to the game VoidCritters and can play it for hours.
Other times we take them both to the park for some afternoon fun. I am starting to look forward to someday becoming a father and being able to take my own kids to the park. But I really want to get my career as an athlete established first.
Speaking of careers I just sold my first mobile app and am getting some nice royalties.
I was able to use the money to add another room onto the house and purchased some addition equipment so that I can have my very own home gym.
We also added space for some recording equipment for Everly.
She has been mixing her own tracks.
She has also been creating videos of her singing and playing instruments to post on SimTube.
She already has loads of loyal fans. I am so proud of her.
We also just welcomed puppy Rocket into our household. He is the son of Comet and Laika (Lincoln and Carina’s dog).
Speaking of Lincoln and Carina they recently welcomed a a baby girl into the family. They named her Dove and like her brothers she is named after a crater on the moon.
Everly and I also enjoy taking time off to travel. We have gone camping in Granite Falls.
While there we enjoyed fishing.
Played horseshoes and explored nature.
I got some great photos of Everly standing by the waterfall. The setting seemed so perfect I almost proposed again but I stopped myself. I really want to start the bodybuilder aspiration and get a job in the athletic career first.
We also took a trip to Selvadorada.
Where we explored temples.
Went dancing and tried local cuisine.
Visited historic monuments.
And toured Museums.
One evening Everly performed for everyone at a local bar’s open mic night. She is so talented.
We also found a variety of ways to be “alone” together if you know what I mean.
Corvus and Jonathan got married at the Von Haunt Estate. That place held special meaning for them as it was were they shared their first kiss.
Standing there watching them get married made me realize that I was more than ready to take that step with Everly.
A few weeks after the wedding I logged my 100th hour at the computer and completed my Computer Whiz aspiration. That means I can finally start working towards becoming a professional athlete and/or body builder.
I woke up one morning a few weeks later and decided this is the day I was going to propose to Everly.
“It’s a beautiful day. Since we both have the day off do you want to go Magnolia Promenade together for lunch and afterwards take a walk? Maybe do a little shopping or see a movie,” I asked.
“That sounds great,” she said.
Then I got in a workout.
While Everly practiced her music.
Afterwards we took the dogs for a jog before going to get ready.
We decided to go Chez Llama for lunch. As we approached the restaurant Everly’s phone rang. I told her to answer while I went to get us a table.
When she came to the table I could tell the phone call had been an important one. She was pale and looked like she had seen a ghost.
“Is everything okay?” I asked. “Nothing happened to your parents or siblings?”
“No, everyone is fine. It was actually good news, life changing news really,” she said. “That was the President of Dinky Beats. Someone sent him a link to my latest SimsTube video and he loved it. He said I have just the sound they are looking for. They want to produce the song and turn it into a single. It will be on the radio and everything.”
“Wow that’s fantastic,” I said. “I am so proud of you. Looks like soon all our dreams will be coming true. You are going to have your first song on the radio and I have tryouts next week for the Newcrest Llamas.”
Just then the waiter came and we ordered.
While we ate I asked, “So will they have you go to a studio or something to record the song for the radio?”
“I am not sure what the plan is. He said that someone from Dinky Beats would be contacting me later with all the details and the contracts. I am guessing they will have me go to a studio or something in San Myshuno to do the recording.”
“I can’t wait to hear the song on the radio and be first in line to by the single,” I said.
After lunch we went for a walk along the Promenade. I took Everly back to the same spot where we shared our first kiss as teenagers.
I gave her a rose.
Then I got down on one knee and said, “Five years ago we stood in this same spot and shared our first kiss. I knew then that I never wanted to kiss anyone else. I have been in love with you since I was 15 and can’t imagine ever stopping. I want to spend the rest of my life loving you. I want to wake up beside you every morning, eat meals with you, travel, raise a family, and grow old together. I can’t imagine my life without you by my side sharing in all of life’s moments. Everly Lewis will you marry me?”
“Of course I will marry you,” she said as she put the ring on her finger. “I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you too.”
We then proceeded to make-out until someone shouted “get a room”.
We then went home and celebrated out engagement in private.
Later that Everly got a text letting her know all of the contracts for her work with Dinky Beats had been sent to her email. She got on the computer while spent some time with the dogs and cleaned up the kitchen.
After getting off the computer Everly seemed different. “Everything okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, I’m just tired. It’s not every day you find out you are getting a signed recording contract and get engaged,” she said.
She went to kiss me goodnight but the kiss turned incredibly passionate which led to a second round of love making before we both fell asleep.
The next morning when I woke up I was surprised to see that Everly’s side of the bed was empty. I figured one of the dogs must have woken her up or something.
But then I saw Comet was asleep on the floor in bedroom.
While Rocket was asleep on the living room couch.
That is when I saw the ring on the coffee table with a note.
“Dear Castor,
I know I am a coward for writing this in a note rather than talking to you it in person. Please believe me when I say that I love you so much and it is killing me to give the ring back. I am so sorry but I can’t marry you as it wouldn’t be fair to either of us. You see when I got the call this afternoon from Dinky Beats I figured they’d have me go to the studio in San Myshuno and record the single. Then maybe have me write a few more songs or something. But I was wrong. Their plans are SO much bigger. The email they sent last night had a much more detailed plan. They want me to relocate to Del Sol Valley and work at their headquarters to record not just a single but an entire album. Then they want me to go on tour as an opening act for some of their other bands. If those gigs go well then they want me to have my own tour. They are talking a five to ten year commitment. As much as I love you and want to be your wife being a musician, having a singing career, has been my dream since I can remember. My mom always joked that I was singing before I was talking. I can’t pass up this opportunity. I also know that you have a life here in Newcrest. You are the Constar heir and have your own responsibilities and life goals. I knew if talked to you in person you would have offered to give it all up so you could come with me to Del Sol Valley but I couldn’t ask you to do that anymore than you would ask me to stay. I am so sorry Castor. I hope all of your dreams come true. Love forever, Everly”
I couldn’t believe it! Everly was gone. I knew I had to go after her but first I had to talk to my mom. I had to tell her that I couldn’t be the family heir.
