Castor: Chapter 02

While I want to be a professional athlete or bodybuilder when I grow up.  However, I currently have the Computer Whiz aspiration, and I will need to complete that first. Therefore, I have been busy programming and playing video games to bring up my skill in both those areas.

I still prefer being active, so every day, I take Ventatici jogging.

I also spend time doing workout videos. Poor Ventatici hates the TV, so I try not to do them for long.

Having reached the top of scouts years ago, I decided to quit and get a part-time job. I decided on physical labor as it seemed more active than some of the other opportunities available for teens.

The job requires that I have gardening skills, so I have been helping mom with our family garden. I have been harvesting plants.

And pulling weeds.

I enjoy being outside in the garden because Carina usually brings boys home after school. They are always making out in the living room.

I didn’t tell mom, but one afternoon, I heard them messing around in mom’s bedroom.

I have been so busy with working out, gaining programming/video gaming skills, and working in the garden that my grades started to slip. Therefore, when the opportunity came for some extra credit, I jumped at the chance.

Mom recently celebrated her elder birthday.

She didn’t want a big party, but Bellatrix, Bianca, and Betelgeuse all came over to help celebrate. Bellatrix, Bianca, and mom are triplets (the offspring of my grandfather and a Sixam pollination technician), while Betelgeuse is the daughter of my grandfather and his wife, Allison. They were all four born on the same day and therefore grew up like quadruplets and are very close.

Shortly after mom’s birthday, Comet celebrated one of his own.

He likes to go jogging as much as his father, Venatici.

Speaking of Ventatici, he sadly passed away. He was born shortly after I was, so we grew up together. I will miss him.

For Carina’s young adult birthday, she didn’t want a big party with family as she wanted to spend it with her boyfriend Lincoln Hill instead. He took her out for a nice dinner, a Chez Llama.

And surprised her with a birthday cake after dinner.

She didn’t give me any more details, but let’s just say she didn’t come home until sometime the following afternoon.

We haven’t seen much of Carina since she became a young adult. She is either out clubbing.

Or going on dates with guys. She is still dating Lincoln Hill but has several male “friends” that she sees regularly.

She decided to get an apartment in San Myshuno in the Fashion District.

With Carina out of the house, I turned her old bedroom into my personal home gym. I got an old punching bag, treadmill, and weight machine.

I love being able to work out after a stressful day at school.

Mom said I also needed to work on my painting skills. She said that as heir, I am responsible for painting portraits of each of my offspring.

I am also trying to do more of the cooking as I know mom won’t be around preparing my meals forever.

I also try to make time for my friends/cousins. We make frequent visits to Constar Park for basketball games.

They come over to play video games.

One day I got home from the park to find Carina at home. It was clear she was distraught.

Turns out, she is pregnant.

Thanks to her serial romantic aspiration, she has been dating several guys at once, and she has no idea who fathered the baby.

To make matters worse, Carina has the hates children trait so you can imagine how she feels about being pregnant.

Mom insisted that Carina move back home so that she can help with the baby. I was not happy having to put my gym equipment into storage so that she could have her old room back.

At least I can still go jogging with Comet to get my workouts in.

Sadly Carina’s father Aaron’s passed away.  She has his urn on her dresser.

Carina has been having a rough pregnancy.  She has been sick A LOT.

She has also been incredibly moody throughout her entire pregnancy. She will be super angry and raging at everything one minute.

Then the next minute, she will burst into tears. I am hoping that when I have my first alien pregnancy that I am nothing like that.

Thankfully I am so busy with my own pursuits that I don’t have to spend too much time with her.

Before long, she was in her ninth month and going into labor.

She gave birth to a baby boy named Dawson.  He is named after a crater on the moon.

Unfortunately, thanks to her “Hates Children” trait Carina wants nothing to do with the baby. Mom, on the other hand, adores her newest grandchild.

The two frequently argue about how little time Carina spends with her own child.

As heir, I know I will one day have a family of my own, so I have been trying to spend time with my nephew to work on my parenting skills.

But mom and Carina’s arguing makes it hard to concentrate on homework as well as my computer programming.

So I have been spending a lot of time at the Constar Library.

I usually get a cup of coffee and a pastry before heading somewhere quiet to study or work on programming.  One day while getting coffee, I noticed that my cousin Celaeno was expecting.

She fell in love with Robert Willow.

The two eloped and are happily expecting their first child.

One day while working on some programming code, a beautiful girl came up to me and asked if she could join me at my table.

“You’re the Constar heir, right?” she asked.

“Yep, that’s me.  Castor Constar.”

“I’m Everly Lewis.  So as the male Constar heir, that means you are going to have to go through implantation and get pregnant?”

“I guess.  I am not sure I really want to do that as I want to be a professional athlete and bodybuilder.  I am not sure how being pregnant fits in with that plan.  Plus, I think I would like to get married someday. I am not sure how my future wife will feel about me having a child with someone else.”

Then she shocked me by telling me that a few years ago, her father was abducted and went through the implantation process.

“When my dad found out he was pregnant, he had the same worries as you.  He was worried my mom would be angry.”

“But she loved my father and told him that the baby was half of him, and that made her love the child already.  It probably helped that she is a scientist and found the whole male pregnancy fascinating.”

She was with him through the entire pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

She adored baby Nathaniel and treated him as if he was her own son.

He is now five. And the family charmer.

“I am sure the right woman will understand,” she said.

Her words meant a lot to me, and before I knew it, we had spent the whole day talking.

Before leaving, we exchanged numbers.

The next day I called and asked if she wanted to go on a date. We went bowling.

Roller skating.

And played arcade games.

Since then, we see each other daily. Everly comes home with me after school, and we work on homework together.

She enjoys playing video games and can usually beat me at whichever game we play.

She also helps me babysit Dawson while mom and Carina are busy.

Everly is a very talented musician.  She plays several instruments and has a beautiful singing voice.  I have gone to watch her perform at several open mic nights.

One afternoon while visiting Magnolia Promenade, I officially asked her to be my girlfriend.  She happily said, yes.

And we shared our first kiss.

We also posed for a photo together to commemorate the moment.

I framed the photo and put it on my desk in my room.

Now that we are officially dating, she wanted me to meet her family and invited me to her house for dinner.

Her little brother is adorable and loves playing spaceship.

After dinner, I offered to help Everly’s mother clean up and asked her what it was like when she found out her husband was abducted and pregnant.  Did she ever once think, “I can’t do this?” or “I don’t want this child.”   But she reassured me that she adored Nathaniel and thought of him as her own son.

I think she recognized my growing feelings for Everly because she also told me that she believed Everly would behave similarly.

A few weeks later, we celebrated Dawson’s birthday.

He is an adorable little boy with an independent trait.

Everly joined us for cake.

On Leisure Day we took a trip to the beach.

Everly’s family came as did several of my cousins.

Everly’s brother Jonathan was there, and I noticed that Corvus couldn’t take his eyes off him.

One evening after yet another date, I just knew I couldn’t wait a moment longer.  I grabbed Everly’s hand and said, “I love you.”

“I love you too,” she said.

We then proceeded to make-out.

Sadly we recently lost several family members. My uncle Brandan (Corvus, Cooper, and Curtis’s father) passed away as did mom’s older sister Becrux and her triplet sisters Bellatrix and Bianca.  Bellatrix’s husband, Alastor, and Bianca’s husband, Aesir, also passed away.  They are all buried in the Constar family cemetery.

On a happier note, Celaeno gave birth to a baby boy.  She followed in my sister Cassie’s footsteps and decided to forgo the naming tradition.  Rather than giving the baby a name that started with the letter D, she decided to name him after her father, Brandan.

Finally, the day I have been dreaming about for so long arrived. I am celebrating my young adult birthday.

In keeping with family tradition, we had the party at Constar park.

It was great seeing my older sisters.

I can’t believe my sister Cassie’s twins are now teenagers.

During the party, several family members came up to me to ask when I was going to start trying for my first alien abduction/pregnancy.

While others asked when Everly and I were going to get married.

“It will be a while before I try for an abduction,” I said. “I want to get established in my career as an athlete first and before I can do that, I need to finish the Computer Whiz aspiration. As an athlete, I don’t think my coach would appreciate me showing up to games pregnant. As for getting married, I don’t think Everly and I are in any rush. She is very focused on her music career so it will be a while before we are ready to settle down and start a family.”

A few weeks after our young adult birthday Everly invited me to be her plus one at her sister’s wedding.

Her sister Tierra had been dating Howard Hill for years, and they are currently expecting their first child.

Wanting to get married before the baby was born, the couple planned an elaborate wedding at the Von Haunt Estate.

After the ceremony, Everly leaned over to me and whispered, “I have a room upstairs if you want to go somewhere more private.”

We went up to Everly’s room, where we proceed to make-out for awhile.

We then proceeded to woohoo for the first time.

Carina was also a bridesmaid at the wedding as she has been friends with Tierra for years.  Coincidentally, the groom’s brother and best man is none other than Lincoln Hill. He was Carina’s high school boyfriend.

The two spent most of the reception making out.

Carina and Lincoln eventually ended up making use of one of the other bedrooms on the estate.

There must be something about weddings because, during the reception, Corvus finally got up the nerve to tell Everly’s brother Jonathan how he felt about him.  Fortunately, for Corvus, the feeling was mutual.

They also spent a good portion of the reception making out.

A few days after the wedding, my aunt Betelgeuse passed away.

After her funeral, Curtis and Cooper decided to leave Newcrest and move to Sulani.  Curtis wants to be an Angling Ace and got a job as a fisherman.

Cooper is a conservationist and spends his days cleaning up the beaches and analyzing water samples.

Their brother Corvus decided to stay in Newcrest.  He and Jonathan are both scientists.

My aunt Betelgeuse was the last of mom’s siblings and had been mom’s best friend for years.  She has taken Betelgeuse’s death hard.  Fortunately, she has something to look forward to.

About a month after the wedding Carina realized she was pregnant.  Once again, she was not happy with the discovery.

At least this time around, she knew who the baby’s father was.  She immediately called Lincoln Hill to tell him the big news.

After learning, he was going to be a father, Lincoln immediately asked Carina to marry him.   He told her that he had fallen in love with her as a teenager and never stopped.

Carina shocked everyone in the family when she said yes.  As a serial romantic, none of us thought she would ever settle down and get married.

Lincoln has been a fantastic father figure to Dawson.

Lincoln also has a dog named Laika that I am hoping will hit it off with Comet.

Dawson has been going through a naughty phase lately.  He has been making messes all over the house with whatever he can get his hands on.

He will also pull books off the shelves and pull them apart.  You would think he had the wild trait rather than independent.

Things got even worse after Carina gave birth to baby boy Dyson (also named after a crater on the moon).

Dawson was NOT happy about having a new sibling and has been throwing epic temper tantrums.

Our current house is way too small for mom, Carina, Lincoln, Dawson, Dyson, me and two dogs.   Therefore, I have decided it is time for Comet and me to venture out on my own.
