My name is Castor Constar.
Growing up, I had it all. We lived in a big house with a pool.
Our closest neighbors were my cousins and three best friends Corvus, Curtis, and Cooper Connelly.
That all changed when mom built her library. The library now sits on the location of our former home.
We moved into one of the other houses that my grandfather built. Not only doesn’t it have a pool, it only has one bathroom that I have to share with my mother and older sister, Carina.
We also share the house with our dog Venatici. He was born a few months after I was born, so we have grown up together and are best friends.
He is getting older, so mom has been taking him over to our cousin Carmenta’s house in Brindleton Bay to see if he will mate with one of her rescue dogs.
I am incredibly active and each morning when I get up do push-ups, sit-ups, and stretching exercises. Someday I would like to be a professional athlete or maybe a bodybuilder.
My favorite thing to do is go to Constar Park. I enjoy playing on the jungle gym.
I love doing tricks on the water slide.
And playing basketball with my friends. In addition to Corvus, Curtis, and Cooper, we are often joined by Dellinger (blue skin, blueish-purple hair, holding basketball) and Draper (blueish-purple skin, black hair, yellow shirt). They are both my second cousins or is it first cousins once removed — I can never remember how that goes. Draper also lives in Newcrest but Dellinger has to travel all the way from the planet Sixam to join us.
My sister Carina often accompanies us to the park. When she was younger, she used to play basketball with us, but now she is mostly boy crazy.
And they seem equally crazy about her. There are always one or two guys talking to her at a time.
Her favorite at the moment is Lincoln Hill. I have seen them outside the house holding hands.
I even saw her kiss him. I think that is just gross. Mom says I will change my mind on that when I am older.
We recently got a new addition to the family. Carmenta called and told us that one of her rescue dogs had recently given birth to a male puppy.
I named him Comet. I think he is just the cutest thing ever.
I have been teaching him to come and to go potty outside.
Mom recently retired from her job as a writer and spent her days over at Cassie’s apartment, taking care of my niece and nephew while Cassie works.
She loves being a grandma and will play with them, feed them, and teach them skills.
Sometimes Cassie works late, so mom will also read them stories and tuck them into bed.
While I don’t like all the time mom spends with them, I have to admit they are pretty cute.
And I know Cassie appreciates mom’s help with the twins.
Before long, it was time for my teenage birthday. Mom made me a hamburger cake and had a big party for me at Constar Park.
I was thrilled that all of my sisters could come and help me celebrate the big day.
Here I am as a teenager. In addition to being active, I am also good.
